Effects of educational attainment on brain structure and cognition in aging individuals Lead Investigator: Alaina Gold Institution : University of Southern California E-Mail : alainago@usc.edu Proposal ID : 1214 Proposal Description: The proposed study will use longitudinal data to investigate differential age-related changes between those with low versus high educational attainment. We will use neuropsychological data to measure the rate of cognitive decline and identify preceding structural and functional brain changes. APOE status and socioeconomic factors will also be considered. We expect that individuals with lower education will show earlier changes in cognitive domains and that associated brain regions will exhibit structural changes, as well.
